Installation and Updates

Installation instructions 

Stand alone license protected with a USB key
The Serial Number is 5 digits starting with "9".
   If you have a CD: the Installation Instructions can be download from
                                 www.geosolve.co.uk/files/Install.pdf
   If you do not have a CD: the Installation Instructions were provided
                                            by email to your IT department.
   If you do not have the email: contact Geosolve for support.

Network licenses
The Serial Number is 5 digits starting with "2". The installation files were supplied by email to your IT department. Contact Geosolve for support.

Old style Network licenses
The Serial Number is 5 digits starting with "3". Contact Geosolve for support.

Short Term licenses and Fully Working Demo installations
The Serial Number is 5 digits starting with "1". The installation files were supplied by email . Contact Geosolve for support.

Web Activated licenses
The Serial Number is 5 digits starting with "6".The installation files were supplied by email . Contact Geosolve for support.

Updates 

Eligibility for updates
All users may download the latest revision. While running the software (WALLAP, SLOPE or GWALL) click "Help" then "Program update" at the main menu. You will be notified if your installation is up to date. If not, you will be directed to the Geosolve website to download the update.

Details of recent releases and new program features can be found at

Access to new program features
Depending on the age and terms of your license you may not be eligible to access all new features of the software. Some users of older licenses may see the Data Error
         "Your license does not include........."

Troubleshooting

How to report an error  

To report errors and difficulties of any sort please use the
Error Report form or send an email to Geosolve

Installation errors 

Please send screen shots of error messges and relevant folder listings by email to Geosolve
And please also report the circumstances of the error or difficulty using the Feedback form.

Program execution and 
licensing errors 

These are errors related to
     License Validation
     Faulty installation
     Absence or corruption of essential files in the program folder.
Here is a full list of Error Messages and their explanations.
Please submit a Feedback form describing the circumstances e.g. a new installation or following an update or other change to the system.

Key Not Found 

The USB key (Dongle) which activates this license is not detected by the software.

Errors during program operation 

These are Fatal Program Errors which are usually due to some combination of paramaters which was not forseen, or an attempt to write to a protected file. The program halts and offers to submit a bug report.
Please also submit your own comments in the Feedback form. It is helpful to describe the circumstances, how often such events have occured and whether all, or only some users are affected.
Please also send a copy of your data file in a separate email to Geosolve.

Cannot view Help topics 

An error message informs you that topic pages in a Help file (WALLAP, SLOPE or GWALL) cannot be viewed.

Data errors and warnings 

Data errors and warnings are displayed below the data entry tables. The software carries out extensive data checking and reports any inappropriate data values or combinations of parameters. Clarification is immediately available. Simply double-click on any error or warning to see the relevant Help topic.

Clarification, warnings and errors in Results 

Tabulated results are annotated with numerous comments and occasional warnings. The Blue under-lined texts are clickable links to relevant Help topics.
